The letter "S"

 I love the letter S - maybe because it is the letter that starts both my first and last name?! This is a simple plywood letter S that I made pretty.

 First I painted it teal...

 Then I painted grey over it... And sanded...

 I love the look of sanded edges and an antique feel.

 

I have it sitting on a wreath right now but didn't attach it, one of those things I can see being put into lots of spaces in our house. Happy Wednesday!

I've been successfully working from home for the past 7 years. I feel most of the reason I've been successful is because of these 5 attributes:

1. Do your research! It's ok to ask questions and gain all of the information you can before working with a company.
2. Work with someone you like! There are many companies/teams on the

web. Make sure your working with a mentor who you enjoy talking to and safe with.
3. No Ground Floor Opportunities! I encourage you to work with a company that has a sound compensation plan and has been in business for at least 20+ years.
4. Compensation Plan! Ask to see the compensation plan or business reports. I felt a huge sigh of relief when I was shown the business report of the company I work with for the first time. It also enables you to know how you can maximize that compensation plan for your pay-check.
5. SUPPORT! Support is huge. I have tried a few home based businesses and I have only found one where I was supported booth on a corporate and a team level. This one simple step will help you in the day to day.

Easter Egg Ideas for our Little's

 

Easter will be here soon! It's always a fun time of year for our family. We often do the simple vinegar and food coloring for dyeing our eggs but I thought it would be fun to mix it up a little. Here are a few cute ideas that would be fun for every age.

#1: The sharpie eggs have to be my FAVORITE! So much less mess and they could take their time to design them.

DIY ST. Patricks Day Decor

 

ST. Patrick's Day is such a fun holiday!

We love to wear green at hour house, make green breakfast, lunch and dinner and feel the Luck of the Irish.

Here's a quick little project I made to have on display for the month of March.

I cut out the below image on my Silhouette, on green vinyl.

 I spray painted a 8x10 piece of canvas gold and added a little gold glitter on the edges. Once it was dry I put my vinyl image on the painted surface.

 And it looks great! Cadence was so excited and has been showing everyone our new addition :)

What's in the Sauce?

 

One random fact that most people don't know about me is that in High School I worked at a little Pizza Place. Ideal job.. No... but it did teach me a few things. 

One of those things is how to make Pizza Sauce. We made it by the 5 gallon bucket fulls! My family loves homemade pizza and it's fun to have them help.   

What's in the Sauce?

 1 small can of Tomato Sauce

1 Tablespoon Oregano

1 Tablespoon Parsley Flakes

1 Tablespoon Sugar

1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder

1 Tablespoon Onion Powder

1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Mix well!

I use it on top of my home made crust as well as to dip our pizza in. We usually eat salad with our pizza and it goes great with homemade croutons!

Chopping Wood

The reason I love it is because it made me think of my mom. As a kid we had a fire place that was heavily used. It wasn't always my favorite job helping cut wood and hauling it to the house but I remember her saying something very similar to this quote. What great memories I have from it now. 

I couldn't find a printable anywhere for it so I created my own.
