Gather

As I build each peace for clients I pray over the piece, where it will be placed and over the people who will see it. That their home will be filled with joy and laughter, that each person who sits next to a piece will find peace and feel loved, and that the family who receives the piece be blessed beyond measure.

There is no exception to this gorgeous 4 foot long gather sign!

DIY Gather Sign

 

Gather signs have been so popular lately and I wanted to create one that was unique to my style. Just love out it turned out. 

The Steps: 

 I started with finding this old frame that was in the back of our garage. I found it somewhere a long time ago and its just been sitting their waiting to be loved.

 This frame in particular is large, approximately 28" x33". 

I then cut 1x4s down to size.

 I then stained the wood.

 Dry brushed some white paint over the top once the stain was dry.

 Once the wood was completely dry I sanded.

 I then pained the frame black and sanded the edges to give it a rustic edge.

I attached the wood to the frame using wood glue and my nail gun.

 I purchased the word "gather" that had already been cut out of sheet metal and attached it to the wood with small nails.

 And I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out.

Last day of School 2014

 

It's so fun to see how much the girls have grown in one school year! We're all SO excited that summer is here and all of the freedom it brings for us. 

On a Creative note... I made this fun little sign for my mom's patio. She loves sitting outside in the summer months and "Gathering" with friends and family.

 

I used a combination of chalk paint, craft paints and house paint. Then covered the sign with poly to protect it from the weather. 

 This weekend is Memorial Day... I wish you and your loved ones a very safe and happy weekend. Remember the one's who have worked so hard to serve our Country and Provide Freedom for us.
