Trash to Treasure

This ugly lady was in the back of our garage. Doesn't she look awful?!
And the seat hadn't been recovered once but multiple times. So I decided to dress her up a bit...
I used some Gorilla glue and nails to fix the wood and hold the chair back together. Used a nice coat of black paint and this super cute fabric I got in the discount box at Hobby Lobby for a few dollars!
Speaking of garage finds I have a few other projects that I'm working on in there AND I'm super excited about the actual garage itself - it's getting a much needed face lift. Picts soon!

{Salt Dough Hands}

The girls and I made these cutie patootie Salt Dough Hands.
I just love them!!
Such a super easy craft with lasting memories of how little big the girls are.
 Here's what we used:
~4 Cups Flour
~1 Cup Salt
~1 1/2 Cups warm water

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2. Mix flour and salt well. Gradually add water, stirring with a large spoon. Finish mixing with hands. Knead until soft and pliable.
3. Roll out on floured surface about 1/8 inch thick. Have kiddo make a firm mold of their hand. Place on cookie sheets. With the end of a straw, make a hole in the top of the ornament for threading ribbon. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) until hard, about 1 hour.
4. Spray paint color of choice to preserve.

My New "Lost Socks" sign

I've been seeing tons of these cute Lost Socks signs. So a friend and I decided to make our own. It was a ton of fun to have her over and here's what my new sign looks like...
With the new sign came some re-decorating in my Laundry room, more pictures of that to come soon.
 Happy Monday!
