My last Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Project of 2015

This year has been a year of creating for me and in particular I've made so many fun projects using Annie Sloan chalk Paint. I just love that stuff!

My gift from my mom for Christmas was a nail gun and I decided to give it a try today.

I made these candle stands out of some scrap 4x4's and small pieces of wood in the trash bin.

That nail gun was a TON of fun!!! And I created these very simple candle holders under 20 minutes.

I wanted to add some color to the living room so I decided to paint them up!

Here's the process:
Step 1: Build Candle Holders
 Step 2: Paint Candle Holders
(I used Florence).
Step 3: Wax with clear wax. Let dry. Sand if desired and then follow with dark wax.
And here they are in their new resting place in our living room.

Cheers to the New Year my friends! I hope 2015 was great and 2016 brings you lots of motivation, health, happiness and wellness!

Glory to God in the Highest

Luke 2:1-20New International Version (NIV)

The Birth of Jesus

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Be Blessed this Christmas!

Christmas Eve

It seems like yesterday that my babies we're this small!
In 2012 we started a new Christmas Eve tradition. The PickUp Express!

On Christmas Eve we open one gift and each of the kids get new PJ's to wear on Christmas Eve. Along with that is a ticket to the PickUP Express. We all load up in the pickup, with our blankies, popcorn, and a huge dose of Christmas excitement to go look at the Christmas lights.

May your Christmas Eve be filled with the love of those around you and the true meaning of Christmas!

Tracking Santa

Welcome Back!
For the past couple weeks I've been counting down the day's to Christmas! Just 4 More Day's till Christmas!  My kids will be out of school officially tomorrow afternoon. So I've been looking for some fun things to keep them in the Holiday Spirit.

If your kiddos are into Santa here are a few fun sites that will help track Santa as the day's lead to his departure.

The Official NORAD Santa site.

It's pretty interactive and cute for little ones with fun music, games and more.

EmailSanta.com is also interactive. You can have a story read to you by Santa's elves, Watch the Rudolph Cam, and read Santa's Tweets.

Track Santa is pretty cool because you can see exactly where Santa's Sleigh is as he travels the world.

Santa is fun for kids. The Magic of the season is alive as you see little ones excitement and joy.

4 eggs
1 Cup lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
2 tsp. Poppy Seeds (optional)

Icing:
1 Cup Powdered Sugar

*Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 10 inch Bundt Pan.
*In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding, oil, eggs and soda.
*Pour all of the ingredients into prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Once cooled flip onto a serving dish and pour the icing over the cake. Enjoy!

This is such a simple but personal gift.
We traced my daughters little hands. Wrote "Hands Down You are the Best!" and taped them to our favorite bottle of lotion. This lotion is "Hands Down" the best for eczema or severe dry skin and has beat studies against Eucerin and is a must in our home. You can learn more about it HERE.
Stop by tomorrow for some more Christmas inspiration. It's a yummy treat that's for sure!
