My 5's!

I was invited by my favorite blogger in the world Jessie Jo At Home to join in on a blogger interview. Let me start by saying I've never done a blogger interview before so I hope I do you proud Jess!

5 Things I'm Passionate About:

1. My Faith: I believe that God created each of us for greatness, His greatness... At times its hard to remember that but it is a huge part of what shapes me.
2. Being a Wife and Mother: Have you ever read Proverbs 31? - talk about rewarding!!!
10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
It's such a gift to be able to care for, love, honor and be apart of my family!
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
One of my biggest goals and yet a fear is to try to live up to being a wife that is truly honorable in all that I do. I'm so grateful that I get to stay home each and everyday to be the best wife and mom I can be.
3. Riding horses! It's one of those things that takes time and I have to etch out the time to be able to do but without a doubt it is a HUGE passion of mine. I hope I can pass on the peace that I get when riding a horse.
4. Family: We are SO very blessed with an amazing family on both sides. Some we see often, some live far away, some we don't talk to nearly enough and some we talk to everyday. But I know that we are loved and having that bond is phenomenal.
5. MOPS: I can't even describe the excitement I get out of getting to go to MOPS twice a month between the months of Sept - May! I look so forward to the fellowship of the moms in our community, having a little break from my kiddos and just enjoyment of being out of the house.

5 Things I Want To Do Before I Die
It's so hard to list just 5 things I want to do before I die. Have you seen the movie "The Bucket List" with Jack Nicholson & Morgan Freeman? Such a good movie! I have a bucket list of my own... short term and long term things I want to do. Here are a few...
1. Make a really pretty lemon meringue pie.
2. Watch my kids grow, do great things, be there for the everyday moments, see them get married, have families of their own and be able to be present in their lives.
3. Go to an Aveda Salon and Spa and get the works done. We toured many salons when I was in cosmetology school and we went to this amazing Aveda salon that had the prettiest décor and amazing tools.
4. Go to a winery - I think it would be awesome to go through the process of how wine is made and see the rolling hills of grapes.
5. Build my dream front porch and drink coffee on it.

5 Things I Say A Lot
1. I love you!
2. Be nice to your sister.
3. "hello" (when answering the phone, and I answer it a lot!!!).
4. Super
5. Your the Best

5 Books/Magazines I Read A Lot
1. My Bible
2. Every Cowgirl Needs Dancing Boots
3. Winnie the Pooh Bears Good Night Hum
4. MomSense Magazine
5. Leadership In Action

5 Places I Would Love To Travel To
This really goes back to my bucket list :) There are many places I want to go.
1. Polar Express Train in CO with my kiddos. I think the magic in their eyes would be exceptional!
2. Maine - the tranquility of those pretty light houses just takes your breath away.
3. Giant Sequoia and Red Wood trees in California. Another breathtaking moment to be able to drive/walk/run through a huge tree.
4. Disney World as a family. We have it on our bucket list and can't wait to go when everyone is old enough to go potty by themselves ;)
5. Chicago - why you ask? I have no idea, hah! It seems like it might be fun to see though.

And as I'm looking back at old photos for this blog post, I'm so blessed that I've had moments like these to make my life great!

My DIY High Chair Recover Job

Talk about BEAUTIFUL!!!!
This high chair was Chris's as a kid and all 4 of our babies have sat in it. Why it's taken my 4 years to decide that I can recover it I don't know but I'm super excited about how it turned out.
This was my "O NO, I hope I can put it back together" moment.
But I did! And it looks great.

I love the rough edges of the foot rest. It makes me smile when I think of how many meals little ones' have eaten in this chair.
Including my littlest! Owen wasn't sure if the new cover was a good thing or a bad thing...
But he gave me a half hearted smile to make mommy happy!

Our One Tank Trip

Several weeks ago we decided to take off and have a family day.
Our family loves a good old fashion museum! This one was pretty cool because it was very interactive for the girls.

 I love this photo!
This little horse was free to ride and lasted FOREVER with one push of the button.
 My girls and I :)
There we're several buildings to walk through, from an old farm house, to a sod house, to a school house, church and HUGE barn. As we walked through them all Cadence had an obsession with the different pianos.
All of us in the school house.
 Cadence at another piano...
 And another piano...
This has to be my very favorite photo. Cadence was SO very mad that she didn't get a dress like her sisters! This is what memories are mad of.
 My very best friend!
 And the great big barn!

The loft of the barn was so amazing to me!
After we left the museum we did a bit of bowling! It was the first time we've bowled together as a family - pretty exciting!

I'm a sucker for a photo op, I guess it's from growing up with a mom who loves photography. This bridge was over a little stream we passed on the way home.
Our little day trip was so much fun. It wasn't too long or too short, everyone was happy and able to enjoy one another. Love days like that!

Mandy's 8th Birthday

Our Mandy celebrated her 8th Birthday!!!
She's such a blessing to us. A great big sister, compassionate, loving, hard working, kind and the best 8 year old I could ever ask for.
She wanted a Horse Birthday cake and that's what she got. Click HERE to see the directions I used. It was super simple.
Cadence & Lilian we're more than Happy to help celebrate.

We had a great time celebrating with her! It's still pretty amazing to think that the little 6# 0 oz baby we brought home from the hospital has grown into such a phenomenal 8 year old.
