12 Days of handmade Christmas gifts: DAY 4 DIY Baby Blocks

Yesterday I worked on a project for my niece, nephew and God son.

It was super fun and really pretty easy. I started out with 6 square blocks of fabric.
I then attached ribbon and sewed the blocks together.

I then stuffed the squares and put a little bell inside so they jingle.

I made a total of 6 blocks, all different in color and size. I think there super cute.

And they are baby tested by my youngest... Perfect for baby hands :)

12 Days of handmade Christmas gifts: DAY 3

I love the way these cute little applique shirts look. So I thought I would give it a shot, not the worst but I've learned from it as well.

This would be a great idea for a baby gift or for the holiday season. First I laid out several different ribbon's that I had on hand.
Then I sewed them to the one-z.

Topped off the top with a button.

There you have it, my first attempt at decorating a little girls Christmas shirt :)

12 Days of handmade Christmas gifts: DAY 2

One of the projects that I want to make is a set of play food for my kids. To purchase handmade play food it can add up. So I thought I would give it a try.

Here is my version of play sugar cookies... I started with some off white fabric and measured out double sided circles.
Then I cut them out, pinning the sides together to make sure they we're even.

I then cut out smaller circles on pink felt.

I then attached the felt to my fabric circles by sewing on beads to imitate sprinkles.

This is what your "cookies" should look like...

I then turned the cookies inside out and sewed them together. Leaving enough room to turn them back around.

So to enclose my cookies I stitched around the edges.

And here is the finished product. A simple handmade play sugar cookie that is safe enough for the baby to play with eat pretty enough for my girls to imagine with.

12 Days of handmade Christmas gifts: DAY 1

I really do find joy out of making handmade gifts for those that I love (and I like getting them too :). So I thought I would share with you some of the thinks I'm making this year. So we all know how in the hair bows are now days. And they can be a bit pricey too. So I made my own version. I got the flowers on sale for .59c! Isn't that great! The ribbon I had here so really these are very in-expensive! You'll need:

• Ribbon
• Flowers of choice
• Scissors
• Glue
• Alligator clips

Once you pluck your flower you'll want to cut off the stem that is attached to the flower.

Then glue a bit of ribbon on to the clip.
Then simply glue the flower to the ribbon covered clip.

This project took me about 20 min. to make 6. Super easy and I think my daughters will LOVE it! Along with a few cousins and niece :)

Trick - or - Treat

My cute little trick-or-treaters!!

We had the privilage to take Miss Abbey Cadabbey, a little Princess and the cutest little filly you've ever seen out on Sunday night to go trick or teating. It was so much fun!
