~FALL~

I've been doing a bit of Fall decorating (WooHoo)! I made this fun fall bunting and it's super easy!
 I used some burlap scraps...
Traced my letters on to it and painted with black paint...
And hung it over our corner shelf with some of those cute tiny clothes pins.
Happy Fall!

O what a little spray paint can do!

We've had this lovely mauve lamp beside our bed for years. I decided to try and update it... so glad I did!!!
 Love how she looks now.
A bit more updated, simple, and a lot less mauve!
Happy Wednesday :)

Pinterest Marketing Tips

Don't you LOVE Pinterest! I do! It's so addicting and one of the biggest social media sites out there. Here are  9 tips that will help you in marketing your website on Pinterest.
1. Plan for Success - Be sure to properly set up your account and create Boards that will apply to your niche market.
2. Be Social - Pinterest is a visual social media website. Meaning you need to interact with others. Follow others, comment on their pins, thank others for re-pinning your pins and create relationships. This will enable you to gain a strong following.
3. Invite others to Follow You - We've all seen those Follow me on Pinterest buttons. Be sure to add your own on your blog and other social sites. This is a great way to gain exposure!
4. Pin It - Along the same lines as having others follow you on Pinterest, you need to have a Pin It Button on your blog so others can Pin your images. Be sure your creating quality material to be pinned.
5.Create larger images - Grab attention by having longer images. This will take up more space and gives you more screen time.
6. Remember your SEO - Search Engine Optimization is so key to being found. Use #hashtags, keywords and url's in your pins.
7. Promote Creatively - Add a call to action in your pins... Something like "Pin if you agree" with a favorite quote.
8. Pin Different Image Types - photos, images, text and even videos!
9. Be Copyright Savy - Don't pin images that have copyrights - you can get yourself into trouble. On your own images be sure to add your website address and link back to your page.

Happy Pinning :)

My DIY flower boxes

Our garage has slowly been getting a face lift. I can't wait to show it off once it's completed! Here is my DIY flower box project though....
 Not too bad right!
So I started out by making 4 square boxes out of 2x4's.
We had a stack of old picket fence planks. I picked the past of them, cut to size, scraped off the old paint, screwed them into my frames and re-painted.
I've been seeing these super cute lanterns on Pinterest as well. So I made a few for myself.
I also made this fun sign that is hanging outside the walk in door along with scrubbing, repainting and putting a new light bulb in the outside fixture. Several more things yet to do but it's feeling so much more finished day by day.

Have a great week!

2012 Fair

The girls had so much fun at our local fair this year! Super proud of Mandy and all of her projects. Above are some of my favorite photos from the fair. I love the last three, Cadence was so tired from all of the fun and the other two we're SO excited about their snow cones :)

The Girls and their Calves

Each of the girls have had calves this year. After months and months of bottle feeding, then feeding grain and halter breaking have all lead up to our 2012 fair!

Mandy is so excited to show her calf and works with him often... on the other hand my Lilian has decided that it's more fun to brush her calf instead of pulling him around.

{Resources to help You be Debt Free}

It's been said that if you have debt you have really three options:
  1. Keep doing what your doing and see no changes.
  2. Earn more money to pay off your debt.
  3. Lower your Expenses so you can apply more of your income toward your debt.
For our family I really didn't like that we had debt and I did not want to stay in the situation we we're in. So I decided to do a bit of the second two options. But I wasn't sure where to start.... Here's what helped our family. First off I wanted to earn more money to pay off our debt But (and that's a HUGE But) I didn't want to be away from our kiddos. So I did a lot of searching and found a viable home business that I had passion in and that I believed in. When starting a home business you need to set realistic expectations and know you will not get rich over night but over time and being consistent you will earn a very nice income.

Secondly I looked towards ways to lower our expenses. Here are a few links and resources that we're helpful to us:
Real Debt Help - Dave Ramsey Dave Ramsey's book The Total Money Makeover is amazing and super helpful. There are 7 small steps that really help you to open your eyes and see the small things you can do to get to a place of Financial Freedom.
BankRate This site allows you to figure out payments, interest rates, credit card options and so many other financial tools.
www.Crown.com is a great Christian site and here's a link for helping to create a budget.

The above sites we're the most help to me - but there are many other resources out there. The main step you can take is to become knowledgeable and aware of where your money is (or is not) going each month. Simple steps can help you to be in charge of your money instead of living in constant worry and anxiety of not having money.
