DIY Earrings and Snowman Printable

 

If your searching for a fun DIY gift that your kids can help with that someone will actually use give these a try! 

All 4 of my kids helped with this project and I love the way it turned out! 

 Supply list: 

Diamond Glaze (found at hobby stores or amazon or etsy)

Glitter of choice (we used the fine glitter)

Earring Studs (We found ours HERE). 

 We poked our earring studs into a box to keep them upright while we created.

 Start with a small amount of glitter...

 And a few drops at a time of the diamond glaze. You'll want to continually mix the two ingredients until the stud is filled and there appears to be a smooth consistency on the top of the earring.

 

 I recommend letting them dry overnight. They should be smooth to the touch once fully dried. 

I created this cute printable for gift giving... 

 

Right click on the above image, save it to your computer and print off on card stock. Then cut into 9 pieces and then in place of where the buttons would be place the earrings.

Verse of the Week and FREE Printables!

Scripture is one of those things that fills my heart and helps me so much yet so hard for me to quote. As Im growing to know my favorite verses I created this fun Verse of the Week board along with some free printables for you to use in your home. 

 I pained a piece of plywood grey. It measures  8x10. 

I used my silhouette to create the design I wanted and white vinyl for the words. 

I attached a clip in the center of the bard. And its ready to go!

Chemical Regulations: What is really in your Cosmetics?

 

My friends, do you know whats in your cosmetics?!

 We're you all watching GMA this morning? 

They had a segment on Cosmetics and what is really in what most Americans use.

The sad fact is that only 11 chemicals have ever been regulated by the FDA for use in cosmetics. And no safety tests are required before beauty products hit store shelves.

As we use these Toxic Cosmetics we are introducing chemicals into our blood stream that create side effects that you might not even think of. Things like skin problems, breathing issues, allergies and even more serious conditions.

 

The truth is it takes just 26 seconds for the chemicals in your personal care products to enter your bloodstream. 

 

The good news is this... As the ABC News reporter found her baseline measurement of chemicals in her system drastically went down after changing brands, so will yours. This is exactly why I'm conscious about what I use on my skin. Not only for my self but for my three girls as well.

1. Typically changing to low-chemical products you'll find companies that use organic formulas. The brand I use, uses food grade ingredients.

DIY Magnetic Photo Holder

 

Ive been on a recent mission to keep everything that my kids touch sanitized. As I was spraying my Natural Disinfectant on the fridge today, I had an "ah-ha" moment!

And thats what drove me to make these super cute and simple DIY Magnetic Photo Holders.  

Our kids are so blessed to not only have all of their grandparents but also great grandparents. And sometimes I find that grandparents are hard to shop for because they have everything! 

Each year I give the kids pictures in cards, this year Ill give them in this fun way so they can be displayed on the fridge. 

 DIY steps to make these Magnetic Photo Holders

I started with some scraps of thin plywood that was stashed in the garage. I wanted to make sure the wood I was working with wouldn't be too heavy for the magnets.

 I then painted my pieces blue, then a coat of white and then I stenciled on top of the white with a country grey color.

 When my pain was dry, I sanded. 

{I love sanding!!}

 Isn't is pretty!?

 

The hardware I used was things I had around my home excluding the magnets. I recently purchased those at Hobby Lobby for $7.00s but I used my 40% off coupon on that item.  

 I hot glued 4 magnets on the back, one on each corner. 

I wanted each photo holder to be unique and a little different. This one I glued these little clips to.

 

This one I wrapped jute around at the top and bottom of it. 

And this one I wrapped with jute simply at the bottom. 

I think they turned out Really cute! All together it took me about an hour of time for these three projects and cost wise was very minimal. 

 Aren't they cute!

A Thursday CAMEO silhouette Project

 

Happy December my friends! 

On this first day of the month I find myself home with a couple of sick kids. Praying the rest of the month brings health for the rest of the bunch. 

So when Im home with a little time I like to create. This project is for a certain someone for Christmas. She specifically asked for this sign {So I hope she loves it!!}

 I started with a 1x12 cut to 22 in.

 

Painted it black. 

 

I created the design I wanted with my silhouette, cut it out on vinyl and placed it on the piece of board. I then painted white over the entire piece. After it had dried I peeled off my vinyl and sanded lightly over the entire piece. 

I then added a little door knocker that I thought was cute.

How to Clean your Make Up Brushes!

 

Happy Friday Friends! Today its cold and snowy here and is a perfect day to take care of some inside chores. 

Lets talk make up, in particular the tools we use for our make up. 

If your not using make up brushes you might be short changing yourself. The application process goes much quicker and smoother if you have the right tools. 

This is my Kubuki brush that I use each time I put on my mineral foundation. Ive had it for several years. Its an investment to buy brushes but so worth it as long as you take care of them. 

Its recommended to wash your brushes a couple of times a month. 

Step One: 

Run your brush under warm (not hot) water to get all of the bristles wet. Pay attention to not get the water under the handle. If water sits under the handle it could cause the bristles and glue used to ad-hear them to become unattached as well as moisture in the handle can cause mold to grow. 

 

 Step Two: 

Add a dimes worth of gentle soap into a small dish. 

***Ive seen articles that recommend J&J Baby wash, I do not recommend this! There are far to many chemicals in that brand that aid in the braking down of the bristles as well as the glue and will cause your brush to fall apart. 

 Not only that but so many of the grocery store brand soaps have ingredients that cause breathing issues, skin issues, allergies and even cancer. It's important to be educated about what we use on our skin and the tools that come into contact with our skin. Click HERE for a bit of helpful information on just that.

 

 

Step Three:

 Add a couple teaspoons of water to your soap and gently swish your brush in the mixture. Take care as your doing this. Your simply dislodging the built up makeup. 

 

 Step Four: 

Run water over your brush and with your hands rinse all of the makeup out of your brush until the water runs clear.

 Step Five:

Towel dry your brush gently.

 Step Six:

Hang your brush upside down to dry to ensure that all of the moisture leaves the tool and doesn't become stuck under the handle.
