A bit of this and that Craftyness

I know Mothers Day has come and gone but here are a few things we've been up to at our house this past week.
The above photo is a simple water bottle with some drink packets in it and this cute printable.
This cute idea came from Pinterest! I painted a piece of wood, mod-podged some clothes pins and hung a piece of string. Super cute Mothers Day gift for the Grandmas out there.
And my Lilian is celebrating her last week of Pre-School this week! So we gave her teacher a soda with this cute Printable.

My Closet Reveal

Our closet has been on my To-Do list for a long time! Like close to three years, talk about procrastination. But now it's done!!!! Excluding a new mirror. Below is an old frame that I spray painted and added wire to the back to hang my earring's and bracelets.
We've all seen those cute necklace holders on Pinterest made out of an old rake, well here's my version...
I found this lovely in the back of my garage. The one thing I added to my new necklace holder is a bead of hot glue at the end of each of the tines to ensure my necklaces wont slip off.
I bought 3 yards of burlap from Hobby Lobby  for right around $3.00s a yard. I used a bit of it to cover a few boxes to put my jeans and sweaters in on one of the shelves in my closet.
I also used a bit of that burlap to re-purpose an old coffee table that we had in our basement. I painted this coffee table, used batting, new knobs on the front and my burlap along with my faithful staple gun to give it new life!
I also made these new burlap curtains, I'm so excited about them!!!
I also added a touch of color {I love the sale paints that you can find at your local hardware stores, great colors at a really nice price} and I bought a stencil to make my closet pretty!
This space makes me so much more happier to be in my closet and not to stuff things in it. :)
Happy Wednesday!

My "Ah HA" Puzzle Moment!

Our puzzles are typically in a drawer that looks much like this. Very overwhelming and who wants to play with a big pile of chaos? So I had an "AH HA!" Moment last week.
We spent most of the morning putting our different puzzles together.
After we found the pieces for each one I labeled the back of each piece and put them into individual zip-lock baggies. So much more organized!

Was Easter really 2 weeks ago?!

I can't believe Easter was two weeks ago! It seems like just yesterday we we're dyeing Easter eggs and putting bunny clings onto our windows here at the house. Here are a few of my favorite snapshots from the beautiful Sunday. What a blessing that we are able to celebrate Jesus being alive. I recently read that we should live each of our days with gratitude and love in our hearts because Jesus died an unimaginable death so we could have that freedom. Those words spoke to me.

Lilian's 5!

Last week we celebrated Lilian's 5th Birthday!
Her party was complete with friends, gifts, playing, a sleepover and cake!

The girls we're so cute! We had a ton of fun and it was a super relaxed birthday party, that made it even more enjoyable for me!Here's my attempt at a princess birthday cake. Lilian was happy with it!!

5 Qualities of a Leader

There are many qualities of a leader. A leader needs to listen, develop, respect, be knowledgeable, take control yet be able to learn and be taught. As I think of leadership I think of someone who is often self made yet effectively encourages others.

My favorite Leadership qualities are these:

VISION: Proverbs 29:18 says this "Where there is no vision, the people parish". As leaders we must clearly see what our vision is either in our organization, business or even our family. Not only are we to see that vision, we need to be able to convert that message over to an understandable way to others.

COURAGEOUS: A leader must speak truth at all times. We've all run into circumstances where sugar coating the situation would make it so much simpler, but who does that help? By speaking honestly you will gain more respect by those listening.

ACCOUNTABLE: By being accountable to yourself, family, business partners, you will become 10 times more likely to reach your goals as well as helping others to reach theirs. Being accountable shows that your there to encourage others to stretch themselves into growth by letting them know you are there.

SERVANT: You may be asking yourself why you need to serve others as a leader. Matthew 20:26 says "Not so with you, instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant..." By serving others you learn so much! You learn others needs and where you need to grow and step out to help them.

AUTHENTIC: A leader needs to be not only authentic with herself but with others. Knowing where you fall short as well as where you prosper is so helpful. Your strengths and weaknesses will help you to build stronger relationships with others. After all to be a leader you must inspire just one person, not an entire tribe.

I hope you have a fantastic week in becoming the best Leader you can be. If you liked this post share it with others or leave me a comment. I love feedback!
