I AM YOUR PARENT...

The words on this piece sink into my heart!
Words that are simple yet so desired.

I designed this piece for a client who gifted two pieces to her sisters and kept one for herself.
Turned out beautiful! And would make a perfect gift for the moms on your Mothers Day list.

Available in Grey, Black or White background.

5 Easy to Care for Flowers

Mothers Day is this weekend!
And a favorite gift for me to give to the Moms on my list is flowers! Flowers are fun no matter what the occasion, but I love giving living plants that they can enjoy not only for the week but for the season and possibly even years to come.
5 Easy to Care for Flowers
1. Iris: iris are among the most elegant -- and easy to grow -- flowers of spring. They come in a large variety of colors and sizes.
2. Peony: You can enjoy the bright-colored lush fullness of the peony flower in your outdoor landscape. These are a personal favorite and will come back year after year.
3. Salvia: Salvia plants, commonly known as Sage, are long-blooming, deer resistant and easy to care for.
4. Snowball Bush: An amazingly 'SHOWY' addition to any landscape; the Viburnum Macrocephalum, more commonly known as the 'Chinese Snowball Bush', is beautiful and easy-to-grow. The flowers emerge a striking lime-green in late spring and gradually turn to snowy-white in mid-May; they retain their green color for several weeks before turning to cream and then to white.
5. Pansy: The garden pansy is a type of large-flowered hybrid plant cultivated as a garden flower. These are annuals and work well in hanging baskets or pots.
Each of these flowers is easy to care for, has beautiful blooms and make for great gifts.
As Mothers Day comes, be sure to show your love to the women who mean so much to us. With a call, hug, handmade card or flower.

Mothers Day... Why I'm not a fan

I hate I'm not a huge fan of Mothers Day!
There's so much hype about "Mother's Day",  fancy gifts that should be given and perfectly dressed moms with matching kids on all of the commercials and ads I see.

It makes me feel less than adequate as a mother and I certainly don't think that's what the day is designed for.

As a child, I feel like its nice to recognize my mom and mother in law on this day but also in my heart I know that it should be an act of love throughout the year. Why should we save the celebration of being a mother to one specific day?

I am sending out Mother's Day cards, aren't they adorable?! They print off beautifully. And because sending flowers is so expensive and last just a week for the recipient, I am sending flower seeds, that will bloom all summer and as they do, I hope those I'm will think of me each time they walk by.

5 Ways to Show Your Mom (Women in Your Life) Appreciation THROUGHOUT the Year

1. Send cards. Everyone loves happy mail.
2. Create a photo album of your favorite memories together and give anytime of year.
3. Call. Who doesn't love to hear their loved ones voices?! And when your on the phone mention how your glad she's your mom.
4. Action speaks louder than words at times. Make the time to spend time together.
5. Buy a gift that specifically makes you think of her. Write a note that explains why.

Mothers Day gift guide....

Mother's day is a little over a week away, and I'm a huge procrastinator! I've been searching for a gift guide that will give me some 'do-able' ideas as to what I can give to my Mom and Mother-in-law. Well I haven't found much! So here's some of my favorites that I've come up with...

1. A photo card. We did this last year and they loved it. I uploaded some Pict's of our kids onto one of those online photo developing sites such as snapfish.com or shutterfly.com. It was a hit but I didn't want to be to repetitive.

2. Flowers. We live about 4 hours away from both my Mom and Mother-in-law. So flower's would be practical, but they can get so pricey and is it personal enough?

3. Buying a handmade gift from etsy.com like a handmade apron. But I'm getting to the point where shipping is an issue with Mother's day being so close.
4. Some homemade goodies, such as cookies. But there again I go back to the shipping/distance issue.
5. Perfume! I just thought of this one today, I could easily get each of their favorite scents put them in a cute basket with some chocolates and some handmade cards from my kiddos.
6. A watering can, pare of gardening gloves, a few packets of some fun seeds, and a note saying "thanks for growing me with Love".
